Consolidates All Field Support across C4ISR community in Order to Provide Consistent Quality Support to the Warfighter
The Field Support Directorate (FSD) provides embedded field personnel to the unit, a regional support structure with field personnel pool, as well as reach-back capability to the software labs for rapid resolution of unit issues. The support structure is divided into regions that map to and align with the Army Sustainment Command (ASC) Army Field Support Brigade (AFSB) structure, and are lead by C4ISR Support Managers who work closely with the unit and the CECOM Senior Command Representatives to resolve any issues. SEC Regional Managers are directly embedded with 5 of the 7 AFSBs (403rd AFSB Korea, 404th AFSB Pacific, 405th AFSB Germany, 406th AFSB East, and 407th AFSB West). There are also two provisional regions to support South West Asia (SWA) activities (401st and 402nd AFSB).
Tools used by FSD include:
- An Operations Center which provides a critical link between the Warfighter, field support personnel, and software maintenance facility.
- A suite of web-based tools on the Global Support Center (GSC) and Single Interface to the Field (SIF) which that are critical for monitoring and tracking personnel, training, and equipment, as well as software issues affecting the Warfighter.
- A detailed, rigorous, formalized training and certification plan for all field personnel, which brings them through various levels of certification.
Each of these tools is utilized by SEC and FSD management, field personnel and unit points of contacts on a regular basis to manage and track the field support mission.
